Need help finding a case for iPhone 17 Pro Max

I just got an iPhone 17 Pro Max and I’m having a hard time finding a case that actually fits well, protects the phone, and still feels slim in my hand. There are so many options online, and I’m not sure which ones are worth buying. I need help choosing the best iPhone 17 Pro Max case for everyday protection without wasting money on the wrong one.

I’d narrow it down fast.

If you want slim plus solid protection, look at these:

Caudabe Sheath. One of the best slim grip cases. Good button feel. Strong magsafe. Not bulky.
Spigen Rugged Armor or Enzo Aramid. Spigen fit is usualy solid, and prices stay sane.
Mous Limitless. More protection, a bit thicker. Good if you drop your phone a lot.
Apple Silicone or FineWoven, if fit matters most. Protection is mid, and silicone tends to wear out kinda fast.
OtterBox Symmetry. Good middle ground. Less brick-like than Defender.

What I’d check before buying:
Raised lip around screen and cameras.
Strong MagSafe magnets.
Separate metal camera ring fit.
Good button response.
Microfiber inside, if you care about scratches.

If you want the safest bet, I’d pick Caudabe Sheath for slim or Mous for protection. Spigen if you want to spend less. Avoid random no-name Amazon cases. Fit is all over the palce.

I mostly agree with @ombrasilente, but I’d push you to think about texture and edge shape more than just “slim vs protective,” because that’s what usually decides whether a case actually feels good day to day.

A few worth checking that weren’t really covered:

  • Speck Presidio2 Pro if you want a grippy case that still slides in and out of a pocket ok
  • ESR Classic Hybrid or HaloLock if MagSafe strength matters a lot to you
  • Nomad Sport Case if you want something slim-ish but a little nicer in hand than the usual TPU stuff
  • Torras cases are decent too, especially if you like a cleaner, less chunky fit

One tiny disagreement: Apple’s first-party cases fit well, sure, but I don’t think they’re worth the price anymore unless you really care about looks. Wear has been kinda meh in my experiance.

If I were buying blind:

  • best slim feel: Caudabe or Nomad Sport
  • best value: ESR or Spigen
  • best “I drop my phone a lot”: Mous or OtterBox

Also check if the case has a bottom lip that’s too sharp. Sounds dumb, but that’s the stuff that bugs you after like 2 days lol.
